Another good one ragger07 thanks so much for this fabulous blast from the past.
I vote with Roger on Bright Lights/Big City and I agree with their reviews on the rest of the flicks.
I think everyone in Bright Lights does a real nice job especially Sutherland.
Beetle juice is the type of movie that I can watch for 10 –15 minutes at a time and after that I can’t take it anymore but some of it is fun to watch.
Great show

Funny banter during The Seventh Sign and Roger laughs at himself, but he’s correct in saying "Februarius," except for the part about it being named after an emperor.

It is often amusing watching these old reviews. Sometimes, S & E give these really negative reviews to films that subsequently became mini-classics, such as Beetlejuice, which is very fondly remembered today.

They also do the opposite. For example, they fell all over themselves praising Down and Out in Beverly Hills, a film that is almost completely forgotten.

Good point you make, Tom, about critics and movies turning out to be classics. I think that speaks to the larger issue that a big part of what makes a film a classic is popular reception. Movies like "Casablanca" and "It’s a Wonderful Life" got mixed to negative reviews upon release, but later attained cult classic status, and then regular classic status. "The Shawshank Redemption" was initially panned by several leading critics; it’s been the highest-rated film on imdb for years.
