They really don’t know what they are talking about with the "Friday the 13th" movies.

As many guys get killed as girls.

And how about giving credit to them for creating a great horror atmosphere and giving you the scares and gore you paid to see?

Most of these "Friday the 13th" movies are not good, but they do the job.

And I’d certainly rather watch them than people tortured in the "Saw" or "Hostel" movies.

I thought that firstmagntiude said he couldn’t find the Friday the 13th review (the full episode).

Anyway this is great, I can’t remember the last time we had an episode uploaded from the Tribune era.

I would love if we had some more Sneak preview episodes uploaded.

Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter is actually my favorite of the series along with parts III and VI. Liked most of the characters and Crispin Glover’s weird dance in the middle of the movie is probably one of my favorite scenes in the series. S&E’s review of it is great too!

Swing Shift I own on VHS. I still need to watch it as it looks very good.

Now we only need the "Last Starfighter" and "Changing Sex Roles" episodes.

The Last Starfighter should be up on Sunday, but I am not sure about Changing Sex Roles.

It’s the only Sneak Previews episode shown on Ebert Presents that I can’t find.

Do you have acess or can it be possible for you to upload all siskel and ebert friday the 13th episodes? It’s my favorite horror movies off all-time and one of my all time favorite movies too I would really appreciate it if you could.

Random question, Firstmagnitude are there any episodes of Sneak Previews you’ve actually found?

Mr. Holmes, I know I don’t have all of them. Some of the Friday the 13th reviews are during the Sneak Previews era, and Dan, I don’t have anymore Sneak Previews, sadly.

Dan, I’ll never give up trying track down more Sneak Previews. They made over 160 episodes of SP, and we’ve found a little over 20. Still plenty more out there, if we can just find them.

The "Swing Shift" debate is AWESOME. God I love this show. Gracias, firstmagnitude.

Oh, and lineba20, if you happen to read this: the point - their point, anyway - is that the movie’s ’job’ (method) is idiotic and offensive, whether or not it’s bothering to do it. You disagree?

There’s not really a big difference between the F13 movies and Saw/Hostel. Both are mildly polished low budget exploitation films released by a studio on hundreds of screens. They qualify as drive-in movies for this decade, as F13 did in the 1980s. And S@E’s point is not wrong about the F13 series in general, but maybe not #4, which is in the middle of the pack. VI is pretty entertaining (as is the self-effacing #9), but to be honest, you should see Hostel II, which is a very smart, funny parody of slasher films, while still being an effective one. It looks at torture films from the POV of the torturer and what drives him.

I actually thought that F13 part 7 was the best since the first one. I liked that there was a girl who could stand toe to toe with Jason (Lar Park Lincoln as Tina). But I certainly understand S&E hating the whole series.

The Friday the 13th movies got progressively lamer with each sequel. Especially after the fourth one. They are all inferior to superior movies the filmmakers ripped like Mario Bava’s The Twitch of the Death Nerve and Deep Red.

Great review by Ebert of Friday the 13th, hilarious they way they described the movie and Eberts last jab of "yea, doubled their money in the opening weekend."

I think what we love about Friday 13th today is the camp value. Something that didn’t exist in it back when these guys started reviewing them. Everything they say about the thrill being seeing someone get "stuck" with something is true. I mean we watch these movies for the titties and blood, knowing full well that there is nothing enriching in the way of stories or characters. If you look at Ebert’s review of Jason X, 15 years later, you can see that he’s gotten over the audacity of "women in peril" and "dead teenager movies" and is content to just point out the sheer crappyness at hand. Although as a camp movie, Jason X is pretty entertaining.
