I always thought Bulletproof was one of Adam Sandler’s better movies. Probably his most underrated IMO.

I have always thought their disagreement on Bogus was really funny.

@Jon Yeah, their argument on Bogus was classic, it looked like Gene was going to lose it in the last seconds of that review lol.

There were a lot of good arguments in this episode, not just for Bogus. What about at the end of the Trigger Effect review when Siskel kept debating even when Ebert tried to move on?

I thought "Bogus" was kinda weak for an imaginary friend family film, Whoopi Goldberg deserves better than this and it did introduced us to a very young Haley Joel Osmont, before appearing in "The Sixth Sense".

"Bulletproof" was decent, not Adam Sandler and Damon Wayans’ best work.

"The Trigger Effect" has some moments, but not a great movie. Same goes to "The Island of Dr. Moreau".

Only good film as their "Video Pick of the Week" was "Unstrung Heroes" with Andie MacDowell and Michael Richards (Kramer from Seinfeld).

Ah, Haley Joel Osment, even now I can’t get past his squinty, beady, eyes.

I know, for a fact, how people react during a blackout because I work at a hotel. I can tell you that when the lights go out people turn into the most ridiculous bunch of paranoid idiots(and more prone to violence) one can imagine.

They get pretty into it with their Bogus debate. Norman Jewison must’ve been amused!

@4:15 - Roger purses his lip in response to being accused of "playing games" with Gene

@4:26 - "I think it would be better to review the movie that is made and not your re-writes!"

Roger nailed him! My biggest hang up with Siskel was that sometimes he talks about the movie he would have have liked to see rather then what was made. So awesome to see Roger call him on it!!

I haven’t seen Bogus (yet?), but Gene’s main criticism seems to come from him seeing Whoopi Goldberg in a role he’s not used to seeing her in. he shouldn’t have let it get to him, but I see where he’s coming from. part of my judgment towards The Borrowers is because kids are more used to seeing John Goodman as a good character in movies and seeing him as the villain will be hard to accept or enjoy more fully.
