The Negotiator is a great thriller, and I actually enjoy BASEKetball. It has its moments, like at one point Trey Parker actually does his Cartman voice. It’s pretty much a cult film now.

I guess Roger must have been a fan of South Park at one point.

Hard to believe that South Park is still going strong (17 seasons in).

I was happily surprised to hear Roger’s video pick of the week. He was right on with South Park and its style of social satire, though it wasn’t apparent to me until many years later.

What an episode. I really liked The Negotiator, and I think Ever After was one of the very best "chick flicks" of the 90s.
And then there is BASEketball. I’m sorry, but I love that movie. It is really funny, with the naming of the stadiums, and the wacky promotions like "Free Range Chicken night." My favorite joke was the one where Dan Patrick and someone else from ESPN outlined the complicated BASEketball playoff scenarios. Fantastic film that would set the stage for an even better movie from Stone and Parker later- South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut.

Anyone remember the South Park episode titled "Roger Ebert should lay off the fatty foods"?

It didn’t have anything to do with Roger except when they go to the planetarium they show the "constellation Roger Ebert".

The Negotiator is underrated. Many of my screenwriting friends don’t like it but I think it’s a great movie. Love Ever After, too. Great movie for kids.
