I was really surprised by this story. I realize that we have really become de-sensitized to violence, but showing R-Rated scenes to anyone walking by?

It was also told by Brad Jones aka The Cinema Snob at the beginning of his review of the same movie, that the great Gene Siskel walked out of the theatre during the half-hour point.

In New York, Gene Siskel was reporting on the horror film, "Maniac". As I was told, he actually did walked out of that film.
